How much is enough?

Going thru a midlife, the thought came up.

How much money is enough before we stop or do we ever stop?

We work, we save, but the amount just keeps growing.

Used to be that 100k is a big sum in the olden days.

Now, even 1 mil people are saying is insufficient to retire.

I once read a book on wealth and they mention that after the first 200 million, the rest becomes a number.

How many houses, planes, cars etc... can you buy?

Of course, if you are buying your own starship, 200 mil might seriously be not enough.

Yet, there are places in this world where we can retire on 200k, semi third world countries like Thailand, Indonesia, Laos, Cambodia (countryside and not the capital cities).

So seriously, guess it's a matter of to each his own.
