Not a bad day

Hmm... Not a bad day yesterday or today so far, been fairly consistent....

Is there a good way to trade? Is there a bad way to trade? Are there really bad habits? As I trade more, questions keep coming into my mind such as these, I have been playing the waiting game these few days and making, this is apparently not too good and I feel the same way, as it seems like I am leaving my fate to others, but it has been making money. Aggressiveness simply is not in my character although I try.

Fear is a constant, spoke to a few others and realised that no matter how long we trade, whenever we put in our first trade, there is always the fear that we are wrong despite all the hundred assurances that the data gives...

I believe the fear of trading simply stamp from the fear of the unknown as nobody can really fully understand or know the market since the market is really humans and who can say to fully understand another human being. Yet despite this fear, there's countless people who are placing trade after trade daily. Call it stupidity, call it gambling but respect the courage.....

Eventful Weekend

Close Fren of mine got married over the weekend, helped out and really enjoyed the happy moments.

Weddings are always happy occasions no matter what minor hiccups occur on the day.

First time at a St Regis Wedding though and have to say the ballroom is fairly magnificent. Service was quite good as well but I guess it will have to come with it considering the price they charged for the whole affair. Was taken with the bridal suites (in this case, it's really a suite, they gave 2 rooms linked for the whole affair.

Recent Thot - Doctor's Habits

Just had a passing thought, why do doctors ask you to breath in and out when they put a stethoscope to your chest, I know they are listening to your breathing but can they really tell if something is blocking or if your lung and heart is laboring or is it to gauge the flow of qi in the body... hehe...

Well, think I will wiki it someday soon and reply to this myself.

Been a while or so it seems

Seems like a long while since I posted but guess it could be just that I am getting used to a regular posting.

Been a little busy and tired or might be just plain lazy, had let my life slide for a while and that is bad, have made a resolution to remind myself from time to time to have activity and work hard.

Had a bad day on wednesday in trading, was making money then made 2 quick mistakes in a roll and got into the red... STUPID >:

Yesterday was better, getting me into a roller-coaster... not sure if good or bad, guess that's just life in the trading world.

Been running errands and meeting up with old frens recently, that's always fun, being in good company always raise the spirits as you know that there are people caring about you in this world.

Stoned!!!

Long afternoon yesterday, slow market, was starring at the screen too long....

After that meet fren's for a Bday celebration, always did enjoyed happy occasions. Had dinner at A Loy Thai at Shaw Center, really full. Full review at my food blog, after that adjourned to TCC Beach Road for drinks, a quiet place for good company, have been going for years to that place for catch up if I am in the area.

Was out late and stoned today, just into office and waiting for afternoon trade.

Trying new things

Not doing morning trading to see how it goes... realise from my history that I was losing mostly in the morning and covering in the afternoon.... Might as well start the day well...

Not a good start to the week

Lost a little in my new office, not an auspicious start but then, confidence is there that this will turn out to be a good week and good month still.

Had a large player on the Osaka market, he was basically controlling it with large volume (1000) deals... gave up trying to guess what he wanted to do after a while....

Hope for a better afternoon...:)

Sunday was errand day

Woke real early, had a ok breakfast with good company (my wife) and run around to settle errands...

Did have an interesting few hours at Mind Cafe @ Boat Quay, Singapore, a gaming cafe where people gather to play board games... learnt a few new games of which the most interesting will probably be Monopoly Deal... hehe... maybe the reason I liked it was that I excelled at it.... won twice...:p

Life's question

Wifey brought something up which was a recurring topic when we saw the news at 11 plus. There was a segment on the less fortunate and how a program was sleeping them and how there were many good hearted Singaporeans out there.

The question was not the kindheartedness of Singaporeans which I personally feel is there, simply that it usually requires some stimulus to awaken us. The point of view of wifey was that the unfortunate in question should not have been brought into this world at all cos it would just cause suffering to all around. That's where I am usually in disagreement with my other half. I am simply pro-life, I believe that all life is there for a reason and we should bring them into this world, there's no better or worse being, all have the potential for greatness despite their disabilities at times. Wifey was much more pragmatic, she feels that if we know a child has some shortcomings, we should not bring them into this world to suffer or bring suffering to those around as well.....

There are merits in that I guess, but I am simply a romantic in believing in hope in all things... No right or wrong in this, just differing points of views......... :-)

Weekend

Yesterday afternoon was good, recovered quite a lot of lost ground on my trading after discovering my mistake.

Shifted office and left earlier for dinner as it was a friday, stayed out fairly late but enjoyed myself, except for an injured thumb nail (hates needless carelessness... :( )

Sat was a sleep in day, rested but did not feel enough, met up with wifey and wanted to catch a movie as it's been a month since we watched something (last show was Megamind which was unsatisfactory), was hoping to catch Harry Potter before it ended, however, we were in the wrong place and wrong time, only shaw was still showing and we were at Suntec Eng wah, anyway it was 9 plus so too late.

Unpleasant incident at G2000 as well (service staff was really hopeless/ignoring) so not much mood....

Went back early to watch TV on saturday night... hehe, a luxury not often done on the tired and busy weekdays.

Morning Trade -- SQ

Wow... lost this morning but saw what SQ (Special Quotation) means to the market, really was quite crazy for a few minutes.

Also watched some video of my trades and realise some mistakes, hope to improve...

Life's random thots

Decided to start tweeting from yesterday on at least 1 saying which I should observe.

Today's was on having a goal in life....

Thinking about it, most people I know go thru life without them and have no idea what they want out of life. I think we are all passer-bys in life, thought that I have things figured out and should set clearly what I want but as I write this, my goals seem to be all of a sudden so transient. And the more I think about it, I realised that it's not really my goal which is transient but life itself which is transient, so what if we decided to get rich, decided to buy something for a short term goal, or decided to craft a career for a longer term goal etc... even if we decide to be the best at something and strive towards that, at the end of day, we are still going to move on....

Sad thoughts but I guess, it really is the experience of life which counts rather than the achievements we have at the end of the day.

Neither a good or bad day, Dax was super volatile. was really unhappy over a last trade of mine, got a good position but gave it back due to a wrong click... signz... must learn from that and be more careful

Morning Trading

Made two sets then gave back one, watched the video of my trade, first trade was good, second rest of it was lucky, shld have stopped when 2 up, must take note of that in future.

Machine orders was bad but market went up, did not understand but it came back down after.

Review -- SPELLFIRE

"Neglect not small things, ...."

so it began. One of my first fantasy books and introduction to the world of fantasy and things have not been the same ever since for me.

The book starts off with a common enough setting in a role playing campaign, the tavern, the party has a new addition (3 warriors, a bard, a wizard and a new thief) heading of to explore the nearest dungeon (the Ruins of Myth Drannor), from there it departs from the standard game play with most of the party perishing, caught in a fight between groups of warriors and attention centered on the main characters solely.

While the book as a whole does not have a strong plot line, I keep feeling that it was a whole string of unfinished events (the sequels were not to be for at least another 10 plus years), the language and tone used was really refreshing from the standard fantasy fare and also the high level of magik in the book was something to really look out for. It seems almost everybody had a magic item or two stowed up their sleeves. Potions, wands, starves, magic weapons .... with a ever amusing supporting cast (introducing Elminister, the Knights of Myth Drannor, Shadowdale etc...) what else could you ask for.

An evergreen read for me, I keep discovering little tidbits of entertainment each time I reread it as can be seen from the well worn copy.

Definitely something necessary for a collection of fantasy books...

Back to work

80% recovered and back to work, morning was ok for trading but bad for me, had a weird stomachache.... luckily recovered with some food in the tummy. Went to Maxwell and shall review the food in the following link:-

Well, maybe I am being a little melodramatic, felt enthu about going back to work tomorrow after a short break due to my flu.

Nothing much today, still being sick, cancelled all my appointments and obligations... signz.. opportunity cost lost at least $400.

Not too bad, made a few sets, all markets quite bullish today, stress was a bit less, think might be cos I am sick so my mind is blocking it out as a self defence mechanism.

Will be an interesting psychology question.

Mid Morning trading

Hmm...Did my first trade during the Japan closing on the Nikkei, not much movement but once it moved, was quite fast, wonder which have more relation to Japan, (AP, CN, HK, TW, Korea??) Information overload.

Made 1 set to cover my loss for this morning, will have to work harder later i guess

Bad day, market was sweeping, kena* caught a couple of times and scratch but was finally down 1 set at end of it all.... signz...

Got a flu as well this morning, was not feeling good since yester... double signz....

Bad afternoon, did a lot of mistakes, should have been winning, now forced to recover, managed to cover back all trades but have to pay commissions... signz....

left early to be model hubby, wifey was complaining of eating alone, had a bite at Plaza Sing with her, think will start blogging on a separate blog on food tomorrow with links here.

Meet my friend at Tao's at POMO after that. Kept remembering the advertising on TV abt it, so can say that it was a successful advertising campaign.

Going to be brother at his wedding, sheesh, next year got 3 more weddings, wedding period for all the pple my age, me as well next year

New Job

I was in IT for 7 years, from engineering to project management and everything in between.

Just moved on to financial trading.

See the close relation.... :P

Today's my first day trading on my own computer and account, although i started doing a bit since last month on my fren's comp and acct.

Also first time doing whole day, usual was just afternoon.

Market was quite volatile in the morning unlike the afternoon where it's usually more quiet. Got 3 sets, but the 3rd was more an accident which was bad. Should have stopped, continued, lost 2, got back 1... Not a good feeling in general despite being in the black.... :(

The Past 365 days

The past year have been eventful with 2 life-changing moments in my so far short existence on earth.

1) I got married.... :):):):)

2) Got a new job after 7 years at my old job... (sweat... sweat... sweat)

Not much change after getting married since we are still staying apart but we do get a good feeling each time we look at the rings on each other's hands and calling her wife and hearing her call me hubby...

Will mention more on job in my next post

Wow

Wow, was thinking of starting a blog to document my life since a lot of changes happened recently and am beginning to feel motivated, went to Blogger and can't believe this blog survived...

Hehe, it survived Google Wave.

Exactly 1 year since I started this blog, call it fate that I found it now.

Decide I shall do at least 1 Post a day.. just describing my life and thoughts, will link to other sites with my interests as well.
