How much is enough?
Going thru a midlife, the thought came up.
How much money is enough before we stop or do we ever stop?
We work, we save, but the amount just keeps growing.
Used to be that 100k is a big sum in the olden days.
Now, even 1 mil people are saying is insufficient to retire.
I once read a book on wealth and they mention that after the first 200 million, the rest becomes a number.
How many houses, planes, cars etc... can you buy?
Of course, if you are buying your own starship, 200 mil might seriously be not enough.
Yet, there are places in this world where we can retire on 200k, semi third world countries like Thailand, Indonesia, Laos, Cambodia (countryside and not the capital cities).
So seriously, guess it's a matter of to each his own.
Penny for thoughts.

What do we want from our life
Wow, it's been a while since I had the time to come back to this.
Taking a break between jobs currently and thoughts just come back.
What do we want from our lives?
Having a lot of time and not much money lead me to the question above.
A friend asked me if what I currently go thru (no work, no pressure, essentially a fairly carefree life) is what I want.
A lot of people will actually say yes and admire what I am going thru.
I once thought that yes, this is what I want, to be free, to do nothing or things which I just like etc.. but in truth some of it can be slightly boring.
The days fly by and before you know it, it's nights, weekends, month ends etc...
I do think that each person will have their wants and needs.
For me I am ready to start doing something again.
Of course, that might once again change with time.... :P

Tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow...
Tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow... that seems to be the catchphrase of the day.
It leaves me wondering how many more tomorrows we will have as a human being.
Life is short, live it for today rather than tomorrow as we won't even know whether we will wake up tomorrow.
How many of us look back with regrets at all the tomorrow we did not have or did not do?
Having said that, it's really easier said than done and of course, if something can be put off till tomorrow, is that something really actually worth doing, I wonder.
What do you think?

Karma
Been thinking a little about Karma, especially when it relates to events in my life.
Do we come into the world owing people stuff or is that just a slight defect of the character.
I know of tons of stories we commonly hear where one can simply say no and walk away, even know of a few people who are like that in real life.
Keep me wondering how do people do that so causally. I can never say no when push comes to shove. Is it just life that we come across instances when some things are meant to be or am I pushing to fate as an excuse for me just being plain weak.
Nevertheless, despite whatever the reason might be, it's the outcome that matters and something which I guess I will not be changing anytime soon.
So Destiny anybody?

Political Leanings
It's quite late over here (1130pm) so just a quick one.
Recently had been following the Malaysia elections quite a bit as quite a few of my friends are Malaysians and generally supporters of the opposition.
From the stories i gather from them as well as what i generally read on facebook, it's not going to be a fair election despite the many BERSIH (3 at last count) rallies held over the last years. All the dirty tricks appear to be out even some extremely dumb ones such as accusing the opposition that it's their fault when banners which you yourself printed turn out to be pirated of certain other people's work.
Reading of all these keeps bringing to mind that it's really an unfair world out there and there's not much we can do about it.
I keep thinking and logic tells me that the current governing party will win especially with all the dirty tricks they are playing but some small part of me can't help but root for the underdog opposition and hope they win and prove that there is some good in the world after all.
Signing off as a hopeless idealist
PS. wonder what will happen when it comes to SG's turn come 2016

Been two years....
Wow, been two years....
Two years, how many two years does a human being have in their lives....
Hmm... if we were to live to 90.... (people in Jap lived to 100+ but let's not be ambitious)... then we will have 45 times two years... sounds like a lot but not really...
Well, if you count it in smaller amounts... it actually translates roughly to 90*12*30*24*60*60 = 279936000 secs. Minus my age that will be about 1,710,720,000 secs... 1,710,719,999, 1,710,719,998...
One of my friends years ago gave me an idea of counting down the number of seconds we have left in our life to really see how we are losing our lives secs by secs.. morbid i know but still...
Anyway, this is just to say..i
I AM BACK.
Decided on a whim to start writing a bit again..hopefully, ok, well... this time will make it last...
haha...

Feeling Old
Was surfing around and found this article on a blog....
Bring back lots of old memories as my dad used to work as the security there and I was playing around the area when really young.
For those old enough to remember "the good ole days..."
Kudos to the blogger/team which brought back the memories....

Celebration of Losers
Saw this article laying around...
Felt that while history only remember winners, there's always a spot for the graceful losers as well and let us not forget that....:)

Interesting Stuff
Saw this on a link on how to get your kids to read, most of it is fairly normal and encouraging but this is something....
TOILET READING
Have books placed in the toilet. As weird as it seems, you will be amazed at how much more receptive they will be to reading in there, due to the lack of distractions.

Random Links
Was surfing around and found this site which is really random thots...
Most of the thots are very very crappy but found one or two interesting one.
"I thot I was somebody till I meet somebody"... hehe, think alot of pple have this thot from time to time
2 months since...
Wow, two months since my last post, been busy with christmas and new year and after that the chinese new year, short two months it seem...
Have decided that trading is not for me, simply no interest despite slowly making an ok sum of money... Giving myself at most two more months to see what I want to do.
Not sure what to do with this blog specifically, it was an experiment in bloggin.... and possibly some internet biz... think I will just post randomly on things of interest which I pick up and post any links to afflilated sites in the off-chance somebody will buy some stuff... hehe
Will work on specialised blogs or websites in future and featured them here from time to time as well....
This will really be my blog for my random thots...

Not a bad day
Hmm... Not a bad day yesterday or today so far, been fairly consistent....
Is there a good way to trade? Is there a bad way to trade? Are there really bad habits? As I trade more, questions keep coming into my mind such as these, I have been playing the waiting game these few days and making, this is apparently not too good and I feel the same way, as it seems like I am leaving my fate to others, but it has been making money. Aggressiveness simply is not in my character although I try.
Fear is a constant, spoke to a few others and realised that no matter how long we trade, whenever we put in our first trade, there is always the fear that we are wrong despite all the hundred assurances that the data gives...
I believe the fear of trading simply stamp from the fear of the unknown as nobody can really fully understand or know the market since the market is really humans and who can say to fully understand another human being. Yet despite this fear, there's countless people who are placing trade after trade daily. Call it stupidity, call it gambling but respect the courage.....

Eventful Weekend
Close Fren of mine got married over the weekend, helped out and really enjoyed the happy moments.
Weddings are always happy occasions no matter what minor hiccups occur on the day.
First time at a St Regis Wedding though and have to say the ballroom is fairly magnificent. Service was quite good as well but I guess it will have to come with it considering the price they charged for the whole affair. Was taken with the bridal suites (in this case, it's really a suite, they gave 2 rooms linked for the whole affair.

Recent Thot - Doctor's Habits
Just had a passing thought, why do doctors ask you to breath in and out when they put a stethoscope to your chest, I know they are listening to your breathing but can they really tell if something is blocking or if your lung and heart is laboring or is it to gauge the flow of qi in the body... hehe...
Well, think I will wiki it someday soon and reply to this myself.
Been a while or so it seems
Seems like a long while since I posted but guess it could be just that I am getting used to a regular posting.
Been a little busy and tired or might be just plain lazy, had let my life slide for a while and that is bad, have made a resolution to remind myself from time to time to have activity and work hard.
Had a bad day on wednesday in trading, was making money then made 2 quick mistakes in a roll and got into the red... STUPID >:
Yesterday was better, getting me into a roller-coaster... not sure if good or bad, guess that's just life in the trading world.
Been running errands and meeting up with old frens recently, that's always fun, being in good company always raise the spirits as you know that there are people caring about you in this world.

Stoned!!!
Long afternoon yesterday, slow market, was starring at the screen too long....
After that meet fren's for a Bday celebration, always did enjoyed happy occasions. Had dinner at A Loy Thai at Shaw Center, really full. Full review at my food blog, after that adjourned to TCC Beach Road for drinks, a quiet place for good company, have been going for years to that place for catch up if I am in the area.
Was out late and stoned today, just into office and waiting for afternoon trade.

Trying new things
Not doing morning trading to see how it goes... realise from my history that I was losing mostly in the morning and covering in the afternoon.... Might as well start the day well...
